Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Teresa Cardenas, RN, serves as lead aesthetic nurse at New Age Aesthetics. Having received her nursing degree at Los Angeles Harbor College with top honors as valedictorian, she has focused her career in the aesthetic industry for nearly a decade. Prior to joining our staff, she worked in dermatology where she refined her knowledge of skin care conditions and therapies.

Teresa is extensively experienced in cosmetic procedures including injections of many dermal fillers, Botox Cosmetic, and medications to remove spider veins (“sclerotherapy”). She also has expertise in advanced laser therapies, including the remarkable ActiveFX and DeepFX, our signature single-treatment laser for wrinkles and skin damage.

Since joining New Age Aesthetics, Teresa focuses her knowledge and experience in every consultation and treatment. Working alongside a plastic surgeon with a busy surgical practice, she remains on the forefront of injection therapies and skillfully integrates laser therapies within a comprehensive plan of rejuvenation. In Dr. Berger’s opinion, this provides optimal results with fewer side effects, and is one of the key differences between care at New Age Aesthetics and other medical spa or office environments. By devoting a portion of her time to patients who are recovering from cosmetic surgery in our state-of-the-art surgery center, Teresa has acquired knowledge and expertise about surgery that is a tremendous benefit to patients who are considering cosmetic surgery or who need to know where injections and lasers are too limited to achieve their goals.

Dr. Berger performs surgery at Boulevard Surgicenter, Inc., his exclusive ambulatory surgery facility located at the New Age Aesthetic Center in Encino, California. This surgery center was built by Dr. Berger specifically to provide the latest advanced technologies for plastic surgery procedures. Boulevard offers the full range of surgical and anesthetic services that can be provided in an ambulatory setting. Patients also benefit from the discreet entrance/exit pathway through a lovely atrium adjacent to the center that protects privacy. Staff anesthesiologists require a strict credentialing process that ensures every patient will be in the best of hands. Staff nurses have a large experience from many of the regional hospitals, and Dr. Berger’s chief scrub technologist has worked alongside him for over 18 years. Boulevard Surgicenter is accredited by both AAAHC and Medicare, and is one of the finest of its kind in the United States.

Dr. Berger remains active with surgeries that require hospitalization, particularly large contouring procedures after bariatric surgery for major weight loss (“body lifts”), complex breast reconstructions, or patients with certain preexisting medical problems. He is able to schedule these surgeries for his patients at one of the major medical centers, and will be assist patients in controlling the costs for these outside facilities.
